I’m Zhefu Jeff Li. I like to take photos, and edit them, and share them. That’s pretty much all about this site.
I was born in the Northeastern China city Harbin. Before I was old enough to go to kindergarten my grandparents cared for me in a small village near the Lesser Khingan Mountains. Winter in Manchurian mountain ranges is frigid and pristine. I recall plumping into snow deeper than my height when I was 3 or 4. Therefore, I actually like winter in Chicago, and wish for plentiful snow every year.
Aside from photography, I hike, ruck, road trip, fly drones and solder microcontrollers.

I received my Ph.D. in physical chemistry from the University of Chicago in 2021. I’m now a data scientist working with technologies like big data, machine learning, distributed computation, etc. I am an overall very capable developer. We build state-of-the-art identity solutions for privacy-aware personalized advertisement. I think my job is cool. For more check out my LinkedIn.
Meet Mary (Chinese: 花狗). She is a rescue cat and has been with me for 6 years. I love her a lot. Not sure if she loves back or if she’s in for the food. Also she doesn’t know her names is Mary/花狗 – She only responds to the crackling noise of the treat bag.
